Letter For the Host Family
Dear Host Family,
Thousands of young people from all over the world embark on a special journey by becoming Au pairs.Leaving behind the familiarity of their homeland for 18 months or more, Au pair travel to distant countries, where they are welcomed into Danish culture as a part of their host family. For many Au pairs, this is their first experience in a new country learning Danish language and culture.
To honor these au pairs, the Bayanihan Center Au pair Chapter is now accepting nominations for the Best Au pair of the year award in 2008. There are many wonderful Au pairs doing amazing job of caring for children and this is one way to make sure that these shining stars are recognized. A nomination for Au pair of the year gives best Aupair nice recognition and is a great way for families to say “thank you” to an exceptional effort that they made.
We at Au pair Chapter, a member of the Bayanihan Center for Filipino Migrants Denmark, urge you to consider nominating your Au pair for the 1st Best Au pair of the year” award in 2008 Qualification: All entries must be for Au pair
(Man or Women)
1. The aupair must be living with you, (the host family) the contract needs to be valid.
2. Relationship of the aupair /honesty
3. The nomination is an essay written by you, the host family, describing the characteristics that make the Au pair exceptional. The essay should be from 500 to 850 words (about 1 page, single spaced) and should contain a separate page with the name of the Au pair and your contact information.

Additional information:
v We are looking for compelling reasons why the Au pair is exceptional.
v Host family essays will be judged by a selection panel appointed by the Bayanihan Center Aupair Coordinator. To ensure fairness and objectivity by the selection panel, the names of the Au pair will not appear on contest entries.
v The Bayanihan Center for the Filipino Migrants. Denmark will select 3 Au pairs finalists. Then in order to qualify, each of the 3 finalists must write in their own words a short essay detailing his/her own Au pair experience.
v All contest entries will become property of the Bayanihan Center Aupair, including rights to edit and publish the material.
v The winning Au pair will receive cash and appliances on her families in Philippines.
v In order for your Au pair to be illegible for the award, you may be required to provide verification of the essay’s content.
v The winning Aupair will be announce on 25th of December at Valdemarsgade 69 St. 1665 Copenhagen (subject to change we are looking a big place)
